Who will become France's prime minister? French far-right leader Jordan Bardella said he would turn down the chance to be prime minister if voters do not hand his party an absolute majority in a parliamentary election. Meanwhile, the left-wing parties alliance – which has brought together the Socialists, the Greens, the radical left La France Insoumise (LFI) and the Communists – has decided to put this question off until a later date.
