Record-breaking heatwave hits US northeast

A high pressure system known as a "heat dome" has scorched north east America in areas like Maine, Indianopolis and Buffalo, plunging millions of Americans into dangerous heat. Meanwhile further south a tropical storm brought flooding, while New Mexico battled fires.
