NATIONAL SUMMARY

Thunderstorms with damaging winds, flash flooding and hail

will stretch from the western parts of New York and

Pennsylvania to southeastern Kansas today. Spotty afternoon

thunderstorms will develop in much of the Southeast and

central and southern Rocky Mountains. However, storms may be

a bit more concentrated and widespread in the Florida

Peninsula. A few showers are expected to dampen parts of

northern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and the western Upper

Peninsula of Michigan. Any spotty thunderstorms will be most

likely during the morning hours in the rest of the Upper

Peninsula of Michigan and the northern and western Lower

Peninsula of Michigan. The West Coast, northern Rockies,

northern Plains and most of Texas can expect a dry start to

the weekend.
