Dating app disaster in Chicago sees 5th person robbed at gunpoint by man they met on dating apps

A man who has been robbing people he meets on a dating app struck again Thursday night, according to Chicago police.

In an alert sent Sunday, the Chicago police said the man has pulled a gun and robbed at least five people he met at an agreed-upon location, with all of the robberies happening in Austin. In one case, the man met someone at home and stole their vehicle.

Four of the robberies happened in the 200 block of North Pine Avenue — on June 26, June 30, July 4 and Thursday. Another took place in the 5300 block of West Van Buren Street on July 2.
