NATIONAL SUMMARY

Thunderstorms stretching from the Northeast to the middle

Mississippi Valley can bring flooding downpours, hail and

localized damaging wind gusts tomorrow. In the Southeast and

mid-Atlantic it will be hot and very humid with a gusty

afternoon thunderstorm. A strong area of high pressure

anchored over the Rocky Mountains will continue to promote

very hot weather across most of the West and central Plains.

Many locations will challenge daily record-high temperatures

and some places can even challenge all-time records. Along

the east side of the Rocky Mountains a few strong afternoon

thunderstorms can rumble bringing heavy downpours and gusty

winds. Cool and mainly cloudy weather will continue along

the West coast. Elsewhere, in the northern Plains and Midwest

it will be dry and turning cooler and less humid.
