NATIONAL SUMMARY

Showers and thunderstorms stretching from the Northeast,

southwest into the Ohio and Tennessee valleys can bring

localized damaging wind gusts, flooding downpours and hail

tomorrow. An area of high pressure over the Rocky Mountains

will continue to promote hot weather across much of the West

and central Plains. Some locations in the central Plains

could surpass daily record-high temperatures. Across the

northern Rockies there can be an afternoon thundershower.

Meanwhile, there can be a few strong afternoon thunderstorms

across the Southwest. Thunderstorms can bring heavy

downpours and strong winds. In the Gulf Coast states, it

will be warm and humid with a spotty afternoon or evening

thunderstorm. Elsewhere, in the northern Plains and western

Midwest it will be cool with dry weather and sunny skies.
