Oklahoma State Election Board held ballot order drawing Tuesday
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A public drawing to determine the ballot order of political parties and Independent candidates for the general election ballot on November 5 was held Tuesday morning at the Oklahoma State Capitol.
Recognized political party candidates appear on the ballot in lot order and Independent candidates are placed onto the ballot after the candidates of recognized political parties. A drawing is held to determine the ballot order of those Independent candidates, if more than one Independent candidate files for a particular office.
The result of the drawing and the order of political parties is:
- Libertarian Party
- Republican Party
- Democratic Party
Secretary of the State Election Board, Paul Ziriax, announced on Tuesday that two Independent presidential candidates qualified for the general election ballot in Oklahoma. The last day for Independent candidates or unrecognized party candidates to file for the presidential candidacy was July 15.
Tuesday's drawing determined the ballot order for the Independent presidential candidates:
- Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (presidential candidate)
- Nicole Ann Shanahan (vice presidential candidate)
- Chris Garrity (presidential candidate)
- Cody Ballard (vice presidential candidate)
The last day to register to vote for the general election, is October 11.
