Movie Review: A new generation drives into the storm in rousing ‘Twisters’

Nearly thirty years after “Twister,” a new generation of storm chasers has arrived. In “Twisters,” directed by Lee Isaac Chung, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Anthony Ramos and Glen Powell have a rousing week in Oklahoma's Tornado Alley. Like their predecessors, they want to better understand the natural phenomenon at hand. In her review, Associated Press Film Writer Lindsey Bahr writes that despites its distracting references to the first film, Chung has made a solid entry into the disaster movie canon with escalating action sequences that look great on the big screen. “Twisters,” a Universal release rated PG-13, is in theaters nationwide Thursday.
