The Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol has rarely been mentioned during the Republican National Convention, although Donald Trump often talks favorably about it on the campaign trail. The notable exception was Wednesday night, when a once-obscure economist and Trump adviser was greeted with loud cheers after coming straight to Milwaukee from federal prison where he spent four months for refusing to honor a subpoena from the Congressional Jan. 6 committee. Peter Navarro's defiant speech was a remind of how much the day and Trump's campaign to overturn his 2020 loss animates the party even if it's otherwise rarely mentioned onstage.
