NATIONAL SUMMARY

Spotty thunderstorms will spread from Texas through much of

the Southeast and mid-Atlantic tomorrow. Some thunderstorms

can become severe from Maryland to eastern North Carolina

and will be capable of producing flooding downpours and

localized damaging wind gusts. Thunderstorms can become more

widespread across the Florida Peninsula, where they can

bring flooding, especially in low-lying areas. Farther

north, a storm will bring showers and thunderstorm to the

Norther Plains. Afternoon thunderstorms can pop up across

the Intermountain West. High pressure will continue to

promote extreme heat across the West, and temperatures will

be well above the historical average. Daily record high

temperatures can be challenged, especially across the

interior Northwest and the Northern Rockies.
