NATIONAL SUMMARY

Through the day tomorrow, many residents east of the

Mississippi River may expect similar overall conditions to

those in store for today, as a rather large disturbance

continues to produce extensive coverage of showers and

thunderstorms from the East Coast westward to much of the

South. Additional heavy thunderstorms are expected to

develop near and ahead of an advancing cold front in the

Great Lakes region, where storms from northern Indiana

across southeastern Lower Michigan may turn severe in a few

spots, bringing gusty winds and travel disruptions. Behind

that front, lowering humidity is expected for the Upper

Midwest from Wisconsin into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

As a heat wave continues in the interior Northwest, monsoon

thunderstorms will rebuild in the Southwest.
