Harris plans to continue to build presidential momentum in speech to teachers union

Vice President Kamala Harris is slated to continue her days-old presidential push by speaking to the American Federation of Teachers. The AFT was the first labor union to formally endorse her candidacy. Thursday's outreach occurs as the former and retooled Biden campaign figures out its strategy for generating turnout and maximizing Harris’ time in a 100-plus day sprint to the November election against Republican Donald Trump. Having only launched her campaign with Biden’s endorsement on Sunday, she is expected to constantly travel in the months ahead. But in Trump, she is up against the survivor of a recent assassination attempt with tens of millions of loyalists who are devoted to putting him back in the Oval Office.
