NATIONAL SUMMARY

Showers and thunderstorms, some heavy, will spread from

Maine to Texas tomorrow. Thunderstorms from Pennsylvania to

the Carolinas can bring localized damaging wind gusts and

flash flooding. Heavy thunderstorms in the mid-Atlantic can

lead to flooding, especially in low-lying and urban areas.

Meanwhile, an area of high pressure will promote primarily

dry and very hot weather across the interior Northwest and

Rocky Mountains. There can be a gusty afternoon thunderstorm

in the high terrain of Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado. The

California coast will continue to get a reprieve from the

heat as the area remains cool with areas of low clouds in

the morning. Elsewhere, it will be hot and humid across the

northern Plains. There may be a late-afternoon or evening

thunderstorm bringing hail and damaging wind gusts.
