Michigan toddler recovering after shooting himself at babysitter's house, police say

Police in suburban Detroit say a 2-year-old child shot himself in his stomach while in the care of a babysitter who allegedly had unsecured guns at her house. Warren police say officers were sent to a home around 6 p.m. Saturday about the injured toddler. The child was taken to a hospital where he was listed in stable condition. Police say the child was in the care of a 42-year-old babysitter who had two handguns. A Michigan law took effect earlier this year requiring gun owners with a minor in the home to store firearms in locked storage containers.
