Movie Review: Style triumphs over logic in Zoë Kravitz’s great-looking but vexing ‘Blink Twice’

Director-writer Zoë Kravitz has a lot going for her in the stylish, ambitious, beautifully cast and great-looking “Blink Twice," starring Channing Tatum as a tech mogul and Naomi Ackie as a cocktail waitress visiting his private island. The film seems to aspire to be a gender-themed “Get Out” — or a #MeToo-era thriller with echoes of “Promising Young Woman.” And Kravitz almost pulls it off, writes Associated Press critic Jocelyn Noveck in her review, with some strikingly confident, brashly entertaining filmmaking, until everything seems to break down in a mess of porous storytelling. Geena Davis is a hoot in a supporting role, and Adria Arjona darned near steals the whole show. In theaters Friday.
