Police search for the attacker who killed 3 in a knifing in the German city of Solingen
A large-scale search is underway in the western German city of Solingen after three people were killed and at least eight people wounded in a knife attack Friday night at a festival. Police say they have assembled a large number of forces around Solingen city center, including special units. They are questioning both victims and witnesses. Five of the eight wounded are in serious condition. Witnesses alerted police shortly after 9:30 p.m. to an unknown perpetrator having wounded several people with a knife on a central square, the Fronhof. Police said that the perpetrator was on the run, and that they so far had only very thin information on the assailant.
