Taste of Chicago 2024 entry rules, pricing and lineup

Taste of Chicago, the city's biggest food festival, returns to Grant Park from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday through Sunday and features dozens of restaurants from across Chicago, along with a wide-ranging entertainment lineup.

Here's what to know before you dig in:

General info

Admission to the festival is free.

Food tickets are no longer sold at the festival; instead each booth accepts cash and credit.

Items range from $4 to $25 depending on portion size — most tents offer "tastes" of their cuisine for $5 or less. A full list of menus and prices can be found on the city's Taste of Chicago website.

Entry rules

Festivalgoers can enter at Jackson Drive west of Columbus Drive, Ida B. Wells east of Michigan Avenue, and at Columbus and Balbo drives.

There will be metal detectors and bag checks at each entrance.

Blankets and chairs are allowed for lounging and snacking, but tents, hammocks, canopies and beach umbrellas are prohibited.

Furry friends also have to stay at home. Only service animals will be allowed in.

Entertainment lineup

Musical headliners for the festival include CeeLo Green, Yahritza y Su Esencia and Atlas Genius.

There will also be a dance stage with a wide variety of genres pumping through the speakers, including salsa, flamenco, hip-hop, bhangra, house and more.

How to get there

Public transportation is easy and accessible from Grant Park, with a number of L lines and buses stopping through Chicago's Loop.

For those driving, parking is available at the Millennium Park garages. Spots can be booked in advance on the garage’s website.

Bike parking is also available around the perimeter of the festival.
