Three key plays from the Bears' win vs. Titans

Three key plays from the Bears’ 24-17 win against the Titans at Soldier Field:

Block that punt

About six minutes into the second half, Bears defensive end Daniel Hardy blocked Ryan Stonehouse’s punt. Safety Jonathan Owens recovered it and ran 21 yards for the Bears’ first touchdown of the game. It riled up a Soldier Field crowd that had grown quiet — as well as Owens' wife, gymnast Simone Biles, who wrote on social media that she “almost had a heart attack.”

Pick-six

With the Bears down by one midway through the fourth quarter, cornerback Tyrique Stevenson intercepted a backhand flip by Titans quarterback Will Levis, who decided to do his best Jay Cutler impression rather than get sacked by DeMarcus Walker. Stevenson ran the interception up the Titans sideline for a 43-yard touchdown.

Kick it

Cairo Santos provided all the Bears’ offensive points by making field goals of 24, 50 and 48 yards. He missed only three of 38 field goals last year.

Latest on the Bears
“That’s one of the most competitive dudes I know,” receiver Rome Odunze said. “He’s got that Michael Jordan makeup to go make something happen.”
It went down as an 11-yard catch by Rome Odunze, but there was a lot more to it.
Jones’ muffed kick return late in the first quarter was part of why they had to dig out of a 17-0 hole.
