Person fatally shot in North Lawndale

A person was fatally shot late Tuesday night in North Lawndale on the West Side.

Around 11:50 p.m., the person was found laying on a sidewalk with gunshot wounds to his chest and body in the 3500 block of West Cermak Road, Chicago police said.

The victim, only described as male, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Area Four detectives are investigating and no one was in custody.
