Suspicious death in South Shore home probed as homicide

Chicago police were conduction a homicide investigation after a man was found dead of an apparent beating Monday afternoon at a South Shore home on the South Side.

Around noon, Tony Landers, 61, was found unresponsive suffering from blunt trauma inside a home in the 7100 block of South East End Avenue, police and the Cook County medical examiner's office said.

Paramedics responded to the home and Landers was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The scene was turned over to police, who said his death was suspicious.

Area One detectives are investigating and no arrests have been made.
