Bears-Commanders QB showdown moved to 3:25 p.m.
A marquee matchup between Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams and Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels — the Nos. 1 and 2 picks in the NFL Draft — is getting its due.
With Daniels a star in the making from Week 1 and Williams catching up quickly with three consecutive impressive performances, the Bears’ game against the Commanders on Oct. 27 at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, has been moved from noon to 3:25 p.m. on CBS. The network’s No. 1 team of Jim Nantz, Tony Romo and Tracy Wolfson will call it.
Daniels, the No. 2 overall pick from LSU, has been the front-runner for the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award from the start, with the highlight being a tremendous performance against Joe Burrow and the Bengals in Week 3. He completed 21 of 23 passes (91.3%) for 254 yards and two touchdowns for a 141.7 passer rating in a 38-33 upset victory.
For the season, Daniels has a 107.1 passer rating (six touchdowns, two interceptions) with a league-leading 75.3% completion rate (125-for-166).
Williams, though, is catching up quickly after a slow start. The USC product has a 122.8 passer rating in his last three games — all of them victories — with seven touchdowns and one interception and a 74.1% completion rate. He threw for 226 yards and four touchdowns in the Bears’ 35-16 victory over the Jaguars on Sunday in London.
Daniels (-195) is the leader in the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award race, per DraftKings Sportsbook. Williams (+165) is the No. 2 choice.
