Behind the Morning Joe drama and the plans to spin off MSNBC

Morning Joe hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough drew criticism from many and praise from some for visiting President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago. Following that announcement thousands of viewers stopped watching the show. The timing couldn't have been worse. Parent company Comcast is to spin off a portfolio of cable networks that include MSNBC and CNBC. We speak to Variety's Senior TV Editor Brian Steinberg.
