More white South Africans arrive in the US under a new refugee program

Officials and advocacy organizations say a second group of white South Africans has arrived in the United States under a refugee program announced by the Trump administration. A spokesperson for a group representing members of South Africa's white minority says nine people arrived in the U.S. late last week on a commercial flight. An initial 59 white South Africans arrived last month on a chartered flight. The Trump administration has fast-tracked the relocation of white South Africans after indefinitely suspending other U.S. refugee programs. The administration alleges white South Africans are persecuted. South Africa's government denies that.
