Woman fatally shot in Woodlawn
A woman was fatally shot while riding in a vehicle late Sunday in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.
A gunman who was on the street opened fire at the vehicle, hitting the woman, 31, who was a passenger about 11:10 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Langley Avenue, Chicago police said.
The unidentified woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, police said.
No one was in custody.
Area 1 detectives are investigating.
