Journalist Don Lemon and six other people associated with a protest that interrupted a worship service at a Minnesota church have been charged with violating two different federal laws that are designed to prevent disruptions to Americans' rights. The group that barged into a worship service that Sunday was upset that one of its pastors worked for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Experts say the arrests of the former CNN anchor and another journalist are especially troubling because they could discourage critical coverage of the Trump administration. One law carries a penalty of up to a year in jail while the other law could lead to a decade in prison.
