Man charged in fatal Austin shooting

A man has been charged in a fatal Austin shooting over the weekend, according to Chicago police.

Fabian Rawls, 28, faces a charge of first-degree murder, police said.

Pierre White, 35, was outside near the 4800 block of West Ferdinand Street in Austin about 11 a.m. Friday when he got into an argument with Rawls, police said.

Rawls allegedly pulled out a gun and shot White in the head and torso before fleeing in a red minivan, police said. White was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Rawls is due in court Wednesday.
