Asia shares lower after sharp Wall Street losses on AI-related worries
Asian markets are lower after a tech sell-off on Wall Street over investor concerns about AI disruptions. U.S. futures have also edged lower. Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 fell 1.2% on Friday, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 1.7%. Wall Street saw sharp losses Thursday as investor confidence was dampened by fears of AI disruptions across industries. The S&P 500 fell 1.6% for its second-worst day since Thanksgiving, but it’s still near an all-time high that was set last month. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 1.3%, while the Nasdaq composite dropped 2%. Investors are also closely watching U.S. inflation data due later Friday.
