Paris police shoot and injure a knife-wielding man who tried to attack officers at Arc de Triomphe

French officials say a man with a knife tried to attack police under the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, and an officer shot and wounded him. On Friday, the man targeted an officer securing a ceremony to re-light the eternal flame at the monument. Another officer fired and stopped him. Authorities say the attacker went to a hospital. Police say no officers or bystanders suffered injuries. The French counterterrorism prosecutor’s office opened an investigation and sent an investigator to the scene.
