Israel warns residents in dozens of Lebanese border villages to evacuate as strikes intensify

Israel has warned residents of dozens of villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate as airstrikes around Beirut intensify and Hezbollah reports more attacks. Israel told people near the border to move immediately north of the Litani River. Israel’s Arabic spokesperson warned Wednesday that going south puts lives at risk. Earlier in the week, Hezbollah fired rockets and drones into northern Israel after U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran. Israel responded with airstrikes across Lebanon, killing more than 50 people and wounding about 300. The violence displaced tens of thousands. Israel also issued evacuation warnings for Beirut suburbs before new strikes.
