Trump envoy credits colorful rhetoric and vodka shots in helping him build bond with Belarus leader

President Donald Trump’s special envoy to Belarus recently revealed how he used vulgarity and vodka shots to help ingratiate himself with the country’s autocratic leader. The envoy, John Coale, said he echoed Alexander Lukashenko’s disdain for Europe during a boozy first meeting. Coale divulged details of his efforts to build a relationship with the strongman during a recent appearance at Arizona State University's McCain Institute. He said that Lukashenko warmed to him after he denigrated Europeans with a vulgar word. Coale in an interview on Wednesday said "if I have to use locker room language to get 500 political prisoners released, I will do it every time.”
