Panama-flagged cargo ship with 24 crew members sinks in Bay of Bengal, 240 nautical miles off Odisha; rescue operations underway
A Panama-flagged cargo ship sank Saturday in the Bay of Bengal. The vessel was carrying iron ore from Odisha towards Singapore. Twenty-four crew members were on board the ill-fated vessel. Indian Coast Guard and Navy launched a joint rescue operation. Other nearby ships were alerted to assist in the rescue efforts.
