Illinois woman got $1.8 million for moon-dust bag: A bag used during NASA’s Apollo 11 Moon mission was sold at a US government auction for $995 in 2015. Illinois attorney Nancy Lee Carlson later discovered that the bag contained lunar material. After a legal dispute with NASA, Carlson retained ownership and sold the historic artifact at Sotheby’s in 2017 for $1.8125 million.
