Cities with the most polluted air in Kazakhstan named

In April 2024, out of 68 monitored locations:
36 were classified as having low air pollution levels;17 were classified as elevated;13 were classified as high;2 were classified as having very high pollution levels..
Very high pollution levels were recorded in two locations: Karaganda and Petropavl.
The 13 locations with high pollution levels include:
Aktobe,
Almaty,
Atyrau,
Ust-Kamenogorsk,Ridder,
Temirtau,
Abay,
Satpayev,
Pavlodar,
Turkestan,
Talgar,
Astana,and the village of Shubarshi.
Elevated pollution levels were noted in 17 locations:
Shymkent,
Aktau,
Kostanay,
Semey,
Zhezkazgan,
Taldykorgan,
Balkhash,
Rudny,
Arkalyk,
Zhitikara,
Aralsk,
Shu,
Ayagoz,
Zhanbay village,as well as the settlements of Ganyushkino, Kenkiyak, and Kyzylsay.
Low pollution levels were recorded in 36 locations:
Kokshetau,
Uralsk,
Taraz,
Kyzylorda,
Ekibastuz,
Atbasar,
Zhanaozen,
Aksu,
Aksay,
Zhanatas,
Karatau,
Kentau,
Lisakovsk,
Saran,
Zharkent,
Stepnogorsk,
Shemonaikha,
Shchuchinsk,
Kandyagash,
Khromtau,
Kulsary,
Altay,the settlements of Ayteke Bi, Aksu, Auezovo, Bestobe, Burabay, Glubokoye, Inderborskiy, Beyneu, Sastobe, Toretam,as well as the villages of Akay, Burlin, Makat, and Shieli.

In February, three cities were classified as having very high pollution levels: Karaganda, Satpayev, and Abay.
