Minister reveals how many foreigners came to Kazakhstan for treatment
Tengrinews.kz — Around 80,000 foreign patients visited Kazakhstan last year to receive medical services. Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov said this at a government meeting.
According to the minister, medical tourism is one of the key drivers of growth in the tourism industry. He named the high quality of medical services at a relatively low cost as Kazakhstan’s main advantage.
He also said that 10 domestic medical institutions already have prestigious international JCI accreditation.
According to the report, the cost of medical services at Kazakhstan’s leading clinics is several times lower than in European countries and the United States.
To further develop this area, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, together with the Ministry of Healthcare, is developing a roadmap for the development of medical tourism for 2026–2028.
