Kazakh citizen mysteriously disappears in Chicago: Foreign Ministry statement

Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is aware of the disappearance of citizen Aset Kuralbay in Chicago. Kazakh diplomats are in contact with competent U.S. authorities and are clarifying all the circumstances of the incident.
According to the Foreign Ministry, Kazakhstan’s Consulate General in New York is also maintaining close contact with the citizen’s relatives.

“The situation is under the control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” the ministry assured.

What happened
As previously reported, a Kazakh citizen who went missing two weeks ago is being searched for in the United States. A missing person notice for the young man appeared on Threads.
Twenty-four-year-old Aset Kuralbay lived in the Chicago area, in Ford Heights, Illinois. He last made contact on June 2, 2026. Since June 7, his phone has been unavailable. His documents and bank cards were left at home. On June 10, police found his car.
