Ministry of Emergency Situations issues warning to Kazakhstanis
To prevent wildfires, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, in cooperation with other government agencies, is carrying out preventive measures. Additional mechanized patrols are operating in forestry districts, covering eight forest institutions, and 12 temporary posts have been deployed for reconnaissance and rapid fire suppression. Helicopters equipped with water-dropping systems are also on standby in fire-prone regions.
Since the beginning of the season, 130 fire-tactical exercises have been conducted involving environmental and forestry services. Additionally, Kazakhstan has held three joint drills with the emergency ministries of Russia and Kyrgyzstan to coordinate responses to transboundary wildfires.
Joint raids by emergency services, police, and forestry officials are underway in forest-steppe regions. More than 1,600 people have faced administrative charges for violating fire safety regulations, with fines exceeding 33 million tenge.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds the public that during the fire-prone season, it is prohibited to burn dry grass, light fires in forests or near farmland, or leave behind unextinguished cigarette butts, matches, or other ignition sources. If a fire is detected, emergency services should be notified immediately.
