AI to start finding jobs for Kazakhstanis

Tengrinews.kz — Kazakhstan is introducing a new employment model under which citizens will no longer have to search for suitable vacancies themselves. The system will identify people who need work and offer them relevant job opportunities.
Labour and Social Protection Minister Askarbek Yertaev announced the initiative at a government meeting.
According to him, the ministry is introducing a digital employment service aimed at shifting to a proactive approach to employment. The ministry has described the new principle as follows: instead of people looking for jobs, jobs will find people.
Previously, citizens had to browse vacancies on the portal themselves and contact career centres. Under the new system, people who may need employment will be identified based on employers’ workforce needs.
Notifications will be sent through the eGov mobile app, the Enbek.kz portal, or by SMS from 1414. Artificial intelligence will select personalised vacancies not only in a person’s region of residence but also in other parts of the country, including jobs in skilled trades.
In addition to vacancies, the system will be able to offer training or retraining programmes and suggest relocation to another region. Support will continue until the person secures stable employment.

“The digital service was piloted in Pavlodar Region in July. During that period, 39,000 SMS messages with job offers were sent to citizens. As a result, 962 people found employment,” the minister said.

Yertaev said the service is expected to be introduced in Mangystau Region in September and rolled out across all 20 regions of Kazakhstan by the end of the year.
A similar service is also planned for the Aitu mobile app. An AI assistant will be able to recommend suitable vacancies and training courses to users.
