“Kazhydromet“ warned residents of Almaty and Atyrau

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet has issued a warning for residents of Almaty and Atyrau on its official website.
The information concerns the air quality forecast for Friday.

"On September 18, adverse meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty and overnight in Atyrau," the report states.

Adverse meteorological conditions referring to air pollution are a combination of short-term weather factors (calm winds, light breezes, fog, and temperature inversions) that facilitate the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the surface layer of the atmosphere.
According to meteorologists, Almaty will see variable cloudiness with no precipitation. Northeasterly winds will range from 3 to 8 meters per second. Air temperatures will be 12-14 degrees Celsius at night and 27-29 degrees during the day.
Atyrau will also experience variable cloudiness and no precipitation. Northwesterly winds are expected at 1-6 meters per second at night and 5-10 meters per second during the day. Nighttime temperatures will be 14-16 degrees, rising to 24-26 degrees in the afternoon.
