No heating in the apartment - where Almaty residents should turn
Tengrinews.kz — Authorities in Almaty have issued a reminder on who to contact if heating is unavailable, a leak occurs, or equipment malfunctions following the start of the heating season. Residents can reach out via the 109 hotline or the unified dispatch center.
Who to contact if there is no heating
Ahead of the 2026–2027 heating season, a 24-hour emergency response headquarters will operate in Almaty. In the event of heating outages, leaks, or other issues, residents can contact:
the 109 hotline;the unified dispatch center at 225-14-31;apartment building management organizations;
Open Almaty and e-Otinish platforms;the official social media pages of the Almaty Department of Utilities Infrastructure and Housing Inspection.
The rollout schedule
The Almaty Department of Utilities Infrastructure and Housing Inspection noted that the connection of facilities to the heating network will be carried out in phases.
Priority will be given to socially significant facilities, including educational, healthcare, and social welfare institutions, as well as other essential public sites.
Following these, apartment buildings and other facilities will be connected to the heating supply.
What to check in your apartment
Almaty residents are advised to check the condition of radiators and shut-off valves in advance. However, unauthorized interference with the heating system is strictly prohibited. Specifically, residents should not remove radiators or drain water, as this can cause emergencies, system malfunctions, and outages across entire heating risers.
It is also recommended not to block access to radiators and risers or cover them with heavy curtains, as this reduces heat output.
During the first days of the heat supply, residents are urged to be cautious, as radiators can reach high temperatures. It is particularly important to ensure the safety of children and pets.
The heating season in Almaty will begin early: the city Akimat has set the start date for October 9. Residential buildings will begin connecting on October 10.
