15 billion dollars in investment: Tokayev spoke about cooperation with Belgium

In his speech, the Head of State emphasized once again that the historic state visit by the King and Queen of the Belgians marks a glorious new chapter in the history of bilateral relations and serves as a testament to the friendship between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Belgium.

"Your Majesty, under your wise and decisive leadership, Belgium remains a country united in its diversity and open to the world. Your devotion to your people and tireless efforts to strengthen mutual understanding between Belgium's various communities embody the unifying role of the Crown. In these challenging times, your moral authority and unwavering sense of duty inspire confidence and command deep respect. I am sincerely grateful for your friendship and your steadfast commitment over many years to strengthening ties with Kazakhstan. I am glad that today we can work together to further solidify these bonds. Thanks to your tireless efforts and significant support, we look toward the future of our cooperation with great optimism and confidence," the President said.

"We reaffirmed our determination to strengthen the multifaceted partnership between Kazakhstan and Belgium. Our relations are not burdened by political disagreements or unresolved issues. This creates a solid foundation for expanding cooperation in all areas. Economic engagement remains one of the key pillars of our bilateral relations. Belgium is among Kazakhstan's leading investment partners. Since 2005, Belgian investment in our economy has exceeded $15 billion. We agreed to step up cooperation and utilize new opportunities in transport and logistics, critical minerals, energy, industry, agriculture, biotechnology, digitalization, and space technology. I welcome the participation of representatives from leading Belgian companies in this historic visit. This clearly demonstrates Belgium's confidence in Kazakhstan's economic potential. Our government will continue to create favorable conditions for expanding the presence of Belgian investors and implementing new promising projects in Kazakhstan. Their full and timely implementation will be under my personal supervision," the Head of State assured.

As the President noted, tomorrow's scheduled Kazakh-Belgian Business Forum, Rectors' Forum, and critical minerals round table will serve as significant platforms for translating shared aspirations into concrete results.Photo by the Akorda press service
Following these events, dozens of bilateral agreements and documents are expected to be signed, providing additional momentum to the partnership's development.
