Foreign national unable to descend from Almaty mountains due to hypothermia
Tengrinews.kz — Emergency Ministry rescuers helped a foreign national and two of his friends descend from the mountains in Almaty. The three young men were unable to make their way down on their own because of hypothermia.
In Almaty’s Bostandyk District, near the Cosmostation area, Emergency Ministry personnel assisted three young people.
“While patrolling in a special vehicle, rescuers spotted a group of young people. Among them was a Bangladeshi citizen born in 2006, as well as two of his friends born in 2007 and 2010. During the descent, they became very cold and needed assistance,” the Almaty Emergency Department said.
Rescuers escorted the young people down and took them to a fire station medical post, where they were examined. They did not require medical treatment.
At the foot of the mountains, the rescued group was met by relatives, who accompanied them home.
