House panel stalls on Century Aluminum bill, putting Mount Holly's future in doubt

COLUMBIA — A last-ditch effort to save Century Aluminum’s Mount Holly operation is dead, one lawmaker said Wednesday, when a House panel meeting on the bill meant to prop up the smelter didn’t vote.
