56.7M ballots cleared
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is now ready to dispatch the 56.7 million ballots to over 92,000 precincts nationwide after they passed the rigid verification process of the poll body. The verification process is a procedure in which each ballot is manually fed to the Vote Counting Machines (VCMs) to determine if it contains the proper security features and specification set by the Comelec. Ballots that do not comply with the Comelec security features and specification are rejected by the VCMs. These defective ballots are then quarantined and re-printed until they pass the verification process. This process ensures that no defective ballot shall reach the precincts and be used on Election Day.
