BI chief reshuffles intelligence operatives in 6 major airports

Photo courtesy of smashpipe.com Sources at the bureau’s port operations division (POD) disclosed that more than 60 immigration agents, including contractual confidential agents, were affected in the latest revamp of immigration personnel assigned to the bureau’s border monitoring and security unit (BMSU). The BMSU replaced the NAIA-BI intelligence unit which previously handled the job of monitoring and profiling travelers entering and exiting the country’s premiere port. Among others, BMSU personnel are principally tasked to be on the lookout for foreign travelers whose presence here could pose a threat to national security and public safety, such as suspected international terrorists and drug traffickers.
