It’s the moment of truth for the nation today as 54.3 million registered voters cast their votes in the national and local elections that will decide the country’s next president. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) assured yesterday it will be 100-percent ready to conduct the electoral process with voting centers opening at 6 a.m. and closing at 5 p.m. Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista said they are even more prepared now compared to previous polls. “If you look at the preparations of the Comelec… we are more prepared now than in 2013,” he said.
