Dismissed PNP chief Purisima arrested, freed after posting bail

Dismissed Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Alan Purisima was arrested yesterday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 (NAIA-3) on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by the Sandiganbayan. Elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-National Capital Region (CIDG-NCR) served the arrest warrant on the former PNP chief upon his arrival from Butuan City at around 2 p.m. yesterday. From the airport, Purisima was taken to the Sandiganbayan in Quezon City where he posted a P30,000 bail and paid P600 in legal fees.
