Mt. Bulusan spews thick grayish cloud

Sorsogon City – Mount Bulusan spewed thick grayish-white cloud about two kilometers high around noon yesterday, drifting northwest to the town of Juban, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. The explosion was identified as “phreatic” coming from a shallow source by Ed Laguerta, Phivolcs resident volcanologist based in Albay.  He said the explosion happened at 11:35 to 11:40 a.m. and due to fair weather, it was clearly seen around the area. Yesterday’s explosion is the second since the phreatic explosion last Feb. 22, Laguerta said. Mt. Bulusan spews ashes Friday.
