SAF will be deployed at the New Bilibid Prison

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Director General Ronald dela Rosa, said on Friday that a battalion of the Special Action Force (SAF) will be deployed to guard the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) in Muntinlupa City, as part of efforts to fight illegal drug problem inside the prison facility. Photo courtesy of NewsFlash.org  In a television interview, Dela Rosa said that the deployment of SAF personnel will be done this August, as response to the call of the Department of Justice (DoJ) for SAF and Philippine Marines (PN) men, to be deployed at the NBP to address the drug problem there. Dela Rosa said that a battalion usually consist of 500 personnel. But he clarified that an initial100 SAF men will initially be deployed to help in securing the NBP. “A battalion is close to 500 personnel but initially about 100 plus SAF men will be sent there,” Dela Rosa said.
