President Duterte fulfills promise to bury Marcos at the ‘Libingan’

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Aug. 9 – President Rodrigo Duterte was fulfilling his promise to bury the remains of former President Ferdinand Marcos at the ‘Libingan ng mga Bayani’ (Heroes Cemetery), Secretary Martin Andanar said. Andanar made the announcement during a press conference with the local press in a posh downtown hotel on Monday. He said that his office has already received a memorandum from the Department of National Defense (DND) about the burial procedures of the late strongman at the ‘Libingan ng mga Bayani’ on Sept. 18, 2016. Andanar said that President Duterte was fulfilling his promise to bury former President Marcos in the ‘Libingan’ to stop the division that has hindered the country’s politics.
