Businessmen to help build rehab centers for drug dependents
Some 13 business leaders have agreed to fund the construction of various rehabilitation centers that will be used in the reformation of about 700,000 drug dependents from all over the country. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said that in the initial discussions, the business leaders expressed their willingness to donate funds for the immediate construction of the rehabilitation centers which are urgently needed in view of the rising number of drug users who have voluntarily surrendered. “The government, through Secretary Ismael Sueno of the DILG and Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco will soon enter into an agreement with 13 business leaders to further improve the newly organized integrated comprehensive drug rehabilitation program of the government,” DILG Undersecretary for Operations John Castriciones said.
